Peninsula Dreamscape

Nobember 2022

Unlike previous exhibitions, this one had a tight theme, and it was not one that particularly appealed to me. My art isn’t generally very pretty – or at least taken for that reason. However, it is always a good mental stretch to have a strong focus, and I actually had a lot of fun making the photos and then the corresponding animation (not projection) this time.

Arbitration, application, patience, the vision to feel and capture.

This installation shows the heart of the Peninsular. Dreamscape exhibition. The film explores the land and elements beautifully and unexpectedly, weaves and blends. The surrounding art work (in the exhibition space) and rugs create a harmonious atmosphere. Creative and extending sound sent into the rest of the hall.

My wonderful friend, editor and musician Jean Stevens, made the most beautiful piece of melodic music, and this opened a new way of working with art for me. Fitting imagery and video to the music was magical and really amazed me how transcendental this combination is for me. The depth of the end result is far more than the sum of the two parts.

Magical experience, music, colour, images. Emerging wonderful feeling of sky water and space – thank you.
