Hackney and Bethnal Green London
These photos were taken whilst preparing for The Paper Dress Vintage gig in July 2022. Mostly early morning - as I jogged around the area to find the venue and get inspiration for the projections that showed these edgy, inspiring urban parts of East London - a complete contrast to the sleepy village I was living in at the time.
This is just a few of the images I took for that project.
Key themes include: street art, the canal and reflections in water, my shadow and the the different faces of their goddess - from light to dark. Beauty to me is not always found in the traditional sense of the word. Edgy, bright, blurred, not perfect, my style or appreciation of what is worth photographing could be described as in part, Wabi Sabi.
