Woolverstone Art Exhibition 2023

My latest exhibition combined a number of pieces from the key projects I am currently working on, as well as recent images taken in Berlin and Krakow this summer.

Krakow and Berlin Favourites

The Excluded

This is a project close to my heart, after being diagnosed with ADHD approximately 2.5 years ago. It was life changing and as I am already a trained therapist, I began to study the topic in depth, both to support clients I work with at www.epiphanie.co.uk and to also learn more about this superpower (when channelled correctly) for my own personal healing journey.

I am currently supporting the ADHD and Autism charity in Ipswich and am asking for a minimum donation of £1 for each print that I sell.

One symptom of my own ADHD is that my life runs at a very fast pace. Partly because I have a lot of work commitments, but also because everything is exciting to me. I generally bounce out of bed and can spend hours hyper focusing on the computer playing with the million images I have taken.

The Great White Horse Hotel

I had the privilege of being able to shoot discarded mannequins in Room 88, in January, where Charles Dickens wrote the Pickwick papers. Projecting my recent animation of what manic untreated ADHD can look like onto to the discarded mannequins felt very appropriate. The hotel has been abandoned – although in the process of renovation, and this once glorious building needed the right help to restore it to its former glory.

Similar to neurodivergent conditions, whilst undiagnosed, it can be hard for the individual, family, partner and even health care professionals to understand and manage this different type of brain wiring. It leads to extreme focus when treated, especially in periods of hyper focusing.

However it can also lead to terrible problems with concentration, losing things, disorganisation and time blindness (losing track of time, days, getting appointment timers wrong etc.).

So, with the help of funding, I am making a series of videos/animations to show aspects that can help avoid triggering ADHD people. Life can run so much more smoothly, when we, who have it and those around us, understand our erratic, highly charged, often impulsive energy – and use it to add a much needed originality, whether problem solving, leading big teams and steering our lives in a balanced, productive and highly talented direction, whilst also remembering to eat, do our housework and other mundane tasks.

Shadow Work

I am fascinated by the shadow – both my own and in private client work. I call her my Gemini twin, she stalks me all the time, however in some shots you will find on my website she is light and bright. The more we look at the bits of ourselves we want to hide, the lighter we feel and the less our shadow haunts us – rather she becomes our greatest ally.

Other Pieces

Kirsty Montgomery

Hi, I’m Kirsty!

The designer behind Kirsty M Design.

I love small businesses and working with business owners to build websites that support their dreams is such an awesome part of my job! Why let the huge faceless corporations have all the fun (and the money)? Your small business can make a huge difference but it needs a smart website to support it.
